MOUNTAIN BIKING: Huachuca East Range

← AZ NOGALES WASH NOGALES AZ Single Tracks →

Description

Miles of soft dirt roads through southern Arizona terrain. Make your ride as short of long as desired by tackling tons of dirrent loop configurations. Tons of wildlife including jackrabbits, roadrunners, javelinas, deer, lizards, and snakes! Very excluded and desolate. Bring an extra tube or two if planning on doing some off track exploring. Recommend dropping a few psi also due to the softness and looseness of most of the roads. Alltitude here is a mile high in places so pace yourself and don't forget plenty of water.

Directions

From Sierra Vista head west on Fry Blvd. and enter Fort Huachuca through the main gate or take highway 90 and enter through the East (VanDemon) Gate. Take Brainard until you are just North of Hatfield yet still south of the airfield, keep your eye on the right (east) side of Brainard and you'll come across a small dirt road that will take you under Highway 90 via a short tunnel and directly onto the East Range.

*Non military personnel must take Fry Blvd. through the main gate and receive a temporary visitors pass.

*Always check with range control before riding Ft. Huachuca's East Range.
